The Todmorden Curve service, Blackburn to Manchester & Salford via Burnley, was introduced on Sunday 17th May 2015.

For the first three years the service has been supported financially by Lancashire County Council and Wednesday 16th May 2018 saw the final day of this funding. The service is now included in the Train Service Requirement (TSR) of the Arriva Rail North franchise.
The service continues to be a success and the May 2018 timetable changes will see the service speeding up the journey time to Manchester as the number of stops has been reduced.
On Mondays to Saturdays from Monday 21st May 2018 the journey time form Burnley Manchester Road to Manchester Victoria will be 46 minutes and from Accrington to Manchester 57 minutes.
