Sunday Services Affected By COVID-19

In common with all other businesses in the UK Northern is currently being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Northern is therefore sorry to inform you that on Sunday 29 March the following service groups in the Central and West Region will not be operating:

Blackpool North – Manchester Victoria

A rail replacement bus service will operate between Layton – Blackpool North and between Preston – Bolton calling at all intermediate stations

Blackpool North – Liverpool Lime St

A rail replacement bus service will operate between Wigan North Western and Huyton

Wigan North Western – Stalybridge

Rail replacement bus services will operate between Wigan – Bolton via Westhoughton and between Manchester Victoria – Stalybridge

Liverpool Lime St – Manchester Airport (semi fast service via Warrington Central)

Customers are advised to use other services still serving the route

Blackpool North – York (via Bradford Interchange and Leeds)

Customers are advised to use alternative services Preston-Burnley and Hebden Bridge-Bradford/Leeds/York. Customers requiring journeys between the Calder Valley and East Lancashire routes are advised to change at Todmorden

Leeds – Lancaster – Morecambe

A rail replacement bus service will operate north of Skipton. Lancaster-Morecambe rail services which do not extend from/to Leeds are scheduled to operate as planned

In addition there will be a reduced service operating on the following route:

Manchester Piccadilly – Hadfield

You are strongly advised to make essential journeys only and if you do have to travel then to check with online sources for the most up to date information regarding train/bus replacement timetables.
