Something For The Weekend?
Looking for something to do over the weekend in the Community Rail Lancashire area? Would you like to get there by train? Then look no further!
There are two events happening along the Bentham Line on Saturday 25th February:
+ First is a guided walk led by the Friends of the Settle Carlisle Line, a moderate 9 mile walk starting at Lancaster (10:13) and finishing at Morecambe – details on http://bit.do/c8Bcv
+ There is also a Coffee Morning to support the Lancaster & Skipton Rail User Group taking place in Bentham Town Hall, 10:00 – 11:30, small entry charge, raffle, tombola, home-made cakes & jams, second hand books etc. Download the quirky poster here.
There other ongoing events that can be accessed easily by rail:
+ Now and until Sunday 9th April 2017 – Lytham Heritage Exhibition, Tom Mellor OBE (1914-1994) a major exhibition celebrating the talent and depth of this local architect, painter and designer. Exhibits include photographs of the buildings he designed, his paintings and some furniture and fabrics also designed by him. Lytham Heritage Centre, 10:00 – 16:00 every day (except Monday) – admission free.
+ Now and until Saturday 15th July – India’s Gateway; Gujarat, Mumbai & Britain, an exhibition in Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery tracing the history of Gujarat and Mumbai as age-old centres of trade and migration, focusing on their remarkable links with Britain.
