Pemberton station on the Wigan Wallgate to Kirkby (Merseyside) Line in West Lancashire has had a makeover.
Staff from Transport for Greater Manchester working with people from a local church group held a volunteer day on Sunday 4th October 2020. The amount of work undertaken was tremendous, with whole areas cleaned, weeded, re-planted and re-painted. The Orrell School’s artwork project was slightly amended to form part of the station makeover as well.
The group were so pleased with the TfGM support and Sunday’s results that they have decided to form an official ‘Friends’ group, all on the back of the poster campaign launched last year!
