Parbold Station History In Words

Following on from the project to create a station history poster for Parbold station on the West Lancashire Line, Community Rail Lancashire have been allowed access to some audio recordings made with staff and passengers who have worked and used the station in the past.

The audio files have been very kindly supplied by Mark Dowding who was involved in a project about ten years ago commissioned by The Lancashire Society, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and called ‘The Noise We Mek’. The files have been converted into audiograms by CRL team member Katie Musgrove and a sample of these can be seen below:

The full set of audiograms can now be seen, and heard, by visiting this page on the website: communityraillancashire.co.uk/audio-files/.
