North West In Bloom Successes

A number of towns, villages and friends of stations groups that have connections with Community Rail Lancashire have been successful at the recent North West in Bloom Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony on Friday 2nd November in Southport saw Ansdell, Blackburn, Colne, Croston, Kirkham, Lytham and Whalley all win at least one award.

North West in Bloom

  • For Commercial Effort – Whalley in Bloom (Winner – North West in Bloom Trophy)
  • Environmental Quality Award – Fylde Borough Council (Winner – Northern Counties Housing Association Trophy)
  • Biodiversity Award (Large) – Colne in Bloom (Winner)
  • Best Town Centre Award – Blackburn (Gold Medal and Winner)
  • Best Railway Station – Lytham (Gold Medal)
  • Best Large Coastal Resort – St. Annes in Bloom (Gold Medal and Winner)
  • Best Small Coastal Resort – Lytham in Bloom (Gold Medal and Winner North West in Bloom Vase)
  • Best Urban Community – Ansdell in Bloom (Gold Medal)
  • Best Large Village – Croston in Bloom (Gold Medal)
  • Best Small Town – Whalley in Bloom (Gold Medal and Winner Amberol Ltd. Trophy)
  • Best Town – Kirkham in Bloom (Gold Medal)
  • Best Large Town – Colne in Bloom (Gold Medal)
