Let’s Connect Accrington Railway Station

Community Rail Lancashire in partnership with Connecting East Lancashire are working with artist Alastair Nicholson to help raise the profile, awareness, access and engagement with Accrington railway station.

The project called Memorable Journeys, has been commissioned by Connecting East Lancashire & CRL will improve the visibility and experience of Accrington railway station, to promote the public transport network and active travel routes leading towards it, including walkways, cycle and rail. It is part of a larger programme of work across East Lancashire which includes Brierfield and Ramsgreave & Wilpshire railway stations.

Alastair and CRL’s Shahiesta have been working with students from Hyndburn Park School in Accrington and staff at Accrington library to develop some art work that will be displayed at the station.

Caroline Eccles from Huckleberry Films has been commissioned to make a number of short films about this project and others taking place at Brierfield and Ramsgreave & Wilpshire.
