CRL’s Education Network

Community Rail Lancashire hosted their sixth Education Network session at Accrington station on Wednesday the 21st of November.

The Education Network is open to any Northern community rail partnerships or groups interested in education; focussed on sharing ideas, thoughts, and feedback in relation to educational engagement in community rail.

The group aims to create opportunities for groups to support each other and use these ideas to implement a higher level of successful engagement. The network facilitates a programme of sessions relevant to the members, with a focus on specific elements relating to education and community engagement.

Our sixth session featured a fantastic workshop led by Karen from Community Rail Lancashire, with comprehensive advice for engaging schools in community rail, as well as tips and tricks for ensuring successful trips and programmes with young people. This featured some excellent resources, which can be found at www.downtheline.org.uk/projects/education-network/

Our next session will be in February and will be a training session delivered by the National Autistic Society. For more information please contact Daisy at daisy.chamberlain@btconnect.com
