Over the Easter holidays school children in the Bamber Bridge area were invited to come to the station to build and decorate their own wooden steam engine.
Organised by the Friends of Bamber Bridge Station and hosted by the South Ribble Pensioners Association the workshop was great success with two large groups of children enjoying themselves. Some of the children, along with their parents, came by train from Preston proving that community rail works in encouraging local rail travel!
