Down the Line
Down the Line is Community Rail Lancashire’s new and innovative website, aimed at increasing the participation of groups of young people in the railway.
Launching in late January 2017, the website’s main feature is the ‘toolkit’ for Community Rail Partnerships and Train Operating Companies. The toolkit will comprehensively explain the links to be made between the railway and education, and is a complete guide to establishing your own educational programme.
Alongside this, the ‘Down the Line’ station map will feature stations which have undertaken education programmes or schemes of work with CRL, and will be a living document that celebrates each individual location. Examples of work will be submitted by schools in partnership with CRL may include photographs, artwork, mathematics and science projects, and of course, large-scale creative projects.
It will also feature extensive curriculum-linked activity and session guidance, and advice for engaging student volunteers.
