The wooden archway and Lancashire red rose at the entrance to Whalley station from Mitton Road are to be removed and refurbished. The work is being carried out in a partnership between train operator Northern Rail and Community Rail Lancashire. The archway was originally installed back in 1994 as the station was reopened at the time of the reintroduction of the train service between Clitheroe and Manchester Victoria.
