EXPLORE THE RIBBLE VALLEY LINE – A BRAND NEW DVD

Brian the Bull, star of the brand new ‘Explore the Ribble Valley Line’ DVD made a special guest appearance at Daisyfield Primary School in Blackburn on Wednesday 25th March 2009. The Event was the premiere of the DVD before an audience of year 4, 5, & 6 children and specially invited guests including the Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Mohammed Khan O.B.E., representatives from the Department for Transport, Network Rail and the Association of Community Rail Partnerships.

‘Explore the Ribble Valley Line’ is an educational DVD made by the Clitheroe Line Community Rail Partnership. The DVD made in partnership with Apple Video is short film describing the rail journey between Blackburn and Clitheroe. The DVD is aimed at Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum and touches on structures, geography, history and citizenship among others.

Funding for the project has come from the CRP and also from a grant from the Designated Line Community Rail Development Fund (DLCRDF). Money for the fund comes from the Department for Transport, Network Rail and the Association of Community Rail Partnerships.
