BLUES SUCCESS

The 2010 Colne Rhythm & Blues Festival over the August bank holiday weekend was a great success with ticket sales well up on last year. The East Lancashire Community Rail Partnership played its part again with a music train on the Friday evening and late trains in partnership with Northern Rail.

The Blues Music Train, resplendant in its new train wrap and with a new headboard left Preston at 18.24 on Friday evening with  a good number of people travelling to the festival. The music was provided by Tom Attah, an accomplished blues guitarist, accompanied by his friend on harmonica and by Matt Clarke on tamborine!

As in 2009 Moorhouses Brewery provided a barrel of real ale for the train appropriately named ‘Get Paced’. The beer sold out just before we arrived at Colne making this the most successful music train so far!
