ACCRINGTON ECO STATION FORMAL OPENING

Accrington’s brand new Eco Station was formally opened in a ceremony at the station on Thursday 9th December. A small crowd of dignataries including the architects, project manger, contractors and other invited guests listened to speeches by Councillor Malcolm Pritchard, Mayor of Hyndburn, County Councillor Tim Ashton, Cabinet Member Highways & Transportation, Kathryn O’Brien, Interim Area Director North, Northern Rail and Anke Mollers, Project Manager, Interreg IVB Secretariat.

After the speeches and unveiling of two plaques in the booking hall the guests moved to the Education Resource Room in the basement for refreshments and to watch a trailer for a new Brian the Bull DVD. The Education Resource Room will be used to show key stage 2 children all about recycling and eco issues.
